I am Deb Lorentz. I operate the Mid-Ohio Valley Wedding Officiants chapel. I am also a traveling officiant. It’s not a hobby. It’s not a side gig. I officiate weddings full time because I love what I do. I specialize in making your wedding experience a memorable one.
Here’s how it started.
My husband and I were married in an elopement ceremony in Columbus, OH in 2015 when I became frustrated as I planned our destination wedding. We canceled our original plans and ran away to get married. We had no guests. It was just us and the officiant. I carried a borrowed bouquet from the venue. We recited our vows and became husband and wife. It was short, sweet, and beautiful.
Afterward, I told my husband that our experience was so positive that it inspired me to officiate weddings for others. Two and-a-half years later, Mid-Ohio Valley Wedding Officiants was born. I started it as a division of Deb Lorentz Photography. Soon, officiating weddings became my full-time passion.
I’m a former college English and public speaking instructor and published author. I am also a former mental health counselor. Currently, I teach English as a Second Language (online) to children in other countries. When I’m not working, I like to walk my dogs Lana and Winston and hang out with my husband Johnny.
I am licensed to officiate weddings in West Virginia and Ohio. Although most of my scheduled weddings are located in or near Parkersburg, WV and Marietta, OH, I also travel several hours to the end of each state to join couples in marriage. I am available for destination weddings too. Just ask!
I am a former college English and communications/public speaking instructor. I have also been a freelance copywriter, proofreader, and editor for nearly 20 years. I am also a professional photographer.
The Mid-Ohio Valley Wedding Officiants wedding chapel is located on the second floor of The Dils Center at 521 Market Street in downtown Parkersburg, WV.
I live in Veto, OH with my husband Johnny and my dogs Lana and Winston. When I am not taking pictures for clients or officiating weddings, you can find me teaching English online to children in China. I am a foreign language teacher in the Chinese school system and a private teacher to students who take lessons from home.
I am ordained as a non-denominational minister through Universal Life Church. I officiate non-religious and religious wedding ceremonies. I’d love it if you’d LIKE the Mid-Ohio Valley Wedding Officiants Facebook page for updates and stories of love.
