Every year, I receive emails, texts, and phone calls from couples who are stressed because they’re having a difficult time hiring an officiant. Most of the time, it’s because they’ve waited until the last minute to hire the one person who is necessary for making their union legal.
As soon as you’ve secured the venue and have the date and time booked, you should reach out to local officiants to reserve their services. Keep in mind that we’re vendors, too, and wedding season (particularly the fall) is very busy for us. It’s not uncommon for me to officiate two or three ceremonies in a single day.
While I still offer sign-and-go ceremonies and elopements on short notice–depending on my schedule–I am making adjustments to my weekend schedule this year. Now is the time to book my services, especially for the fall.
I look forward to another wedding season full of love and happiness.
